Your Sex Life and Menopause

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

When you get older, you may find that your sexual needs will change drastically, the only problem is your husband has not lost his desire and will need you to meet his needs. So the question is how do you get your sexual drive back to where it needs to be. This article will give you a couple of ideas to get your sex life back on track when you have menopause.

Have sexual thoughts about your partner. For most women sex starts in the brain, therefore if you spend time thinking about it, chances are you will want to have it. However, do not over think it, because that will cause you to lose interest in it.

Become creative with Your Partner. Think something erotic and interesting. Try other things that have nothing to do with intercourse, try massaging each other, take a nice romantic bath together or spend time caressing each other.

Get yourself in shape. Believe it or not, how you see your body can be part of the reason that you have lost interest in sex, therefore make yourself feel and look great, if he looks interested, and excited about how you look, it will boost your moral and you will get excited.

Get Help!!!! If you find that it is still a problem, see your physician, your therapist or your counselor, anyone who can help you discuss your problems with your partner so that the two of you can come up with some solutions that work for you.

Lastly, don’t give up on having sex with your partner, if he loves you, he will understand that not every thing feels as good as it used to for you. He will be willing to help you, trust me….

Most women get heart disease as it the top killer of women. Once a woman gets to menopause, it is safe to say that her life expectancy is that she MAY live another 30 or 40 years. However while in menopause her risk for heart disorders and serious problems increase, she is more likely to get stroke, heart disease, and hip fractures. In addition she may also be more subsceptible to getting alzheimers or dementia as well.

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
When a woman is going through perimenopause she will experience a few different symptoms and for some women this may be very mild, while for others this can be an exceptionally severe experience.

Here is the list of perimenopausal symptoms:

  • hot flashes: due to the fact that women end up experiencing a buildup of body heat which result in flashes of heat that come from no where
  • heart pounding
  • mood swings: Because of the changes in your levels of hormones you may find yourself angry one moment and happy in the next
  • vaginal dryness
  • disturbances in your sleep
  • your hair may thin out

In most cases these problems come from a change in the amount of estrogen and the amount of progesterone your body has. Once you actually get to regular menopause most of these problems will completely disappear.
